Founders of RAW Coffee Company, Kim Thompson and Matt Toogood were honoured to receive congratulations from Sheikh Ahmad Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Foundation and President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, on RAW’s identification as a top-performing 100 SME in Dubai.
Honouring owners and and executives of small and medium businesses that made it into the Dubai SME100 ranking in its third cycle, RAW Coffee Company was recognised for it’s sustained growth performance, and investment in people and innovation.
RAW Coffee Company is a boutique roastery founded in 2007 by Kim Thompson and Matt Toogood. Located in Al Quoz and freshly roasting Arabica beans that are 100% organic and ethically traded, RAW supplies cafes, restaurants, hotels and homes across the UAE, and have recently opened their very first café inside Emirates Academy of Hospitality.
As members of the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), the UAE national chapter and authorised Specialty Trainers for the SCAE, both Kim and Matt are invested in supporting the growth and awareness of specialty coffee in the region.
Dubai SME 100 was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, to identify the top performing SMEs in Dubai to help groom them into bigger and more sustainable enterprises, and to support them in their growth into larger and internationally oriented companies.
