The property has announced the appointment of Nickola Dsouza, of Instagram’s suga_licioussdubai fame, who joins the team as cake stylist.
Leaving behind a 11 year career in media, Dsouza is now following her passion of baking and cake decoration.
“Her creativity and passion, coupled with her strong professional ethics and vision makes Nickola an indispensable member of the Steigenberger team,” Stephen Meredith, general manager, Steigenberger said.
“Nickola comes at a time that we really need her. We’ve been working to get to this point since we opened up just over two years ago, and within just a few weeks she has already exceeded our expectations. As anyone who has been to our hotel will tell you, we don’t like to copy or follow, and these are cakes you just can’t find anywhere in an already saturated cake market.”
Keeping with the German theme of the hotel, she now goes by the avatar of Heidi, the mascot of Brothaus Bakery & Bistro. When not in the kitchen, Nickola busts her stress in her home kitchen baking and photographing for Instagram
