Raffles The Palm Dubai launches a new mixology experience in collaboration with Memo Paris. Available at the resort’s Sola Jazz Lounge, guests will witness the mastery of the mixologists inspired by the signature fragrances of Memo Paris.
Mixing beverages is encroaching on the culinary world, adding layers of complexity, making this craft more competitive and innovative. Mixologists pride themselves in the art of cocktail making. Industry-related brands organise competitions on a regional and even global level for the contenders to showcase their skills. Innovative mixologists go beyond targeting your taste buds and eyesight and engage scent as part of their creations. Zlatko Kihler, the Head Mixologist at Raffles The Palm Dubai, was inspired by the fragrances created by Memo Paris, and went on to produce five visually arresting cocktails. From Inlé, inspired by the same lake in Myanmar, that is fresh and floral with a hint of lime, leaving a refreshing taste, to African Leather that features the aromas of essential oils, these concoctions are beyond ordinary. Sola Jazz Lounge, where guests can witness and sip on these masterfully prepared concoctions, is one of the few spots in the city where one can listen to live jazz of different genres like soul, blue, Latin or pop jazz. Guests who order one of these drinks will also receive a glimpse of the fragrance that inspired it, served alongside.
“We are thrilled to combine our craftsmanship with Memo Paris to create an innovative experience for our guests,” says Ayman Gharib, Managing Director of Raffles The Palm Dubai.
Memo Paris is a fragrance house known for featuring potent raw materials from global destinations. Founded in 2007 by Clara Molloy and her husband John, the couple drew inspiration from travelling to far-off places around the world. The connection between travelled destinations and natural ingredients has been reflected in every collection of the perfumers. The Fleurs Bohèmes (Bohemian Flowers) collection, ranging from orange blossoms of Madagascar to the roses of Argentina, gave some beautiful fragrance expressions to the perfumers. The Cuirs Nomades (Nomadic Leather) collection, born as a subtle nod to the leather cases and luggage, used by the travellers of the past, has been paired with more traditional destinations like Sicily, Ireland and Africa.
Served daily from 5 pm, the cocktails start from AED 80. For reservations, guests can call +971 4 248 8888 or email dining.thepalm@raffles.com.
