The landscape of the wine industry is in constant flux, and within the realm of luxury resorts the confluence of wine and dine is a quintessential holiday experience. What distinguishes the Atmosphere Core Program on a global scale is its distinctive 360-degree approach. The company prioritizes the cultivation of an authentic culture over the conventional emphasis on upselling and commercial aspects prevalent in the industry.
Guests at Atmosphere Core are treated to an enriched stay, featuring rare wines and unforgettable masterclasses seamlessly integrated into their holiday plans. The Food and Beverage teams have the opportunity to refine their sommelier skills through educational programs. Furthermore, the reach of the program extends to include sales partners and media globally, who are invited to partake in immersive wine experiences. Atmosphere Core has undeniably revolutionized the approach to this refined beverage.
At the heart of this program are three Wine Partners: Champagne Guy Charbaut (Mareuil-sur-Ay), Bodegas Viñátigo (Canary Islands), and Glenelly Estate (Stellenbosch). These partners were carefully selected for their dedication to authenticity, family-owned wineries, and the production of unique terroir wines. This collaboration transcends various departments, spanning Sales and Marketing to Human Resources and Guest Experiences.
Unforgettable Soirees with Winemakers
The year 2023 marked the hosting of winery owners from the three partner vineyards at Atmosphere Core resorts in the Maldives. This gathering resulted in memorable Wine Experiences for guests and colleagues, with a total of 400 attendees across 18 winemaker events at 5 resorts and 3 brands, all blended within the holiday plan.
Winery owner Mr. Nicolas Bureau and his family showcased signature Glenelly Estate wines, visiting OBLU SELECT Lobigili, OBLU SELECT Sangeli, and VARU by Atmosphere in September 2023. Artisanal wine growers and owners of Guy Charbaut Champagne House, Xavier and Nathalie Charbaut returned for their second visit with THE OZEN COLLECTION in October 2023. And, finally, Bodegas Viñátigo winery’s owner, Mr. Juan Mendez and his son, Jorge Mendez who also returned for their second visit to THE OZEN COLLECTION in November 2023.
Elevating Just Veg Festival with Sommelier Selection
An innovative addition in 2023 was the elevation of the Just Veg Festival at Atmosphere Kanifushi. The festival menu was paired with a ‘Sommelier Selection’ from the three wine partners, along with the introduction of an exclusive collaboration with Bodegas Martín Códax, truly one of the premier Spanish wine estates from the world-renowned region of Rías Baixas.

Trips to Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, France and the Canary Islands
The commitment to enhancing knowledge and fostering connections was evident as 10 frontline F&B colleagues visited partner vineyards in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, France, and the Canary Islands. These educational journeys not only brought back stories of volcanic soils and Champagne anecdotes but also solidified bonds with wine partners and developed internal talent. In addition, 180 colleagues participated in in-resort wine training and workshops.
Wine Events for Partners and Media Across the Globe
Expanding its reach beyond borders, in 2023, Atmosphere Core organized over 20 in-market events in 15 cities across Europe and the UK for 300 sales partners and media. These events, comprising engaging dinners with exceptional wine pairings, sought to bring the distinctive ambiance of the resorts to the doorsteps of travel partners and top-tier media.
Nicolas Laguette, the Director of Wine at Atmosphere Core, says “2023 has truly been a fabulous vintage for Atmosphere Core’s wine program, witnessing the remarkable growth of our In-House Wine Culture thanks to the unique support shown by our three family-owned Wine Partners. We now look forward to 2024 which will see our newest collaboration with Bodegas Martín Códax help us breach new boundaries in terms of wine excellence, as well as the introduction of a fourth family-owned Wine Partner – Cantina Rivera from the South of Italy.”
