
Food enthusiasts, prepare your taste buds for an extraordinary culinary journey as Daddy Cool’s Kitchen officially launches on February 6th, 2025. Conceptualized by the charismatic star of Netflix’s Dubai Bling, Ibrahim Kattan, also lovingly known as “Daddy Cool.” This is a joint venture between Ibrahim and his daughter Mona Kattan, in partnership with Kitopi.
Why Daddy Cool you ask? Ibrahim explains, “The name Daddy Cool started as a nickname given to me by my daughter, Mona. Her friends used to say, “Your dad is too cool to be just a normal dad, he’s a cool dad!” and it stuck.”
Speaking of the immense pride Mona feels for her dad, she says “I couldn’t be prouder of my incredible father, Dr Daddy Cool, as he embarks on this exciting new chapter with Daddy Cool’s Kitchen! Watching him take on a new challenge in his 80s is nothing short of inspiring. I can’t wait for the world to experience the magic of Daddy Cool’s Kitchen!”
Cooking has always added warmth and joy to Ibrahim’s life, reflecting “One of my most cherished memories is watching my mother cook in our kitchen in Baghdad, never measuring, just cooking with instinct and love.”
Cooking has been a longstanding passion of his, cooking out of necessity when he left Baghdad at 18 to study in former Yugoslavia, now Belgrade, Serbia. Far from home, on a very tight budget he had to creative, armed with the memories of his mother’s cooking. He began cooking without rules, just instinct, creativity, and a love for flavours that tell a story.
This philosophy is exactly what inspired Daddy Cool’s Kitchen “It’s all about celebrating bold, unexpected combinations and the joy of cooking without limits. For me, food is not just about following a recipe. It’s about creating something from the heart,” Ibrahim offers.
Daddy Cool’s menu is a celebration of flavours, featuring some of Iraq’s most beloved dishes, reimagined with Ibrahim’s creative flair. Signature highlights include Iraqi Dolma- a dish that plays homage to Iraq’s culinary heart. In addition, some well-known Iraqi dishes like the Tepsi Bethenjan, Biryani, Stew of Okra; eggplants; beans with rice, Samak-Masgouf and Pacha.
Speaking about this beloved dish, Ibrahim continues “Without a doubt, my favourite dish, both to eat and to cook, is dolma in Iraqi style. It represents everything I love about food: warmth, tradition, creativity, and sharing.”
A lifelong traveller, Ibrahim has voyaged and lived in many countries including Serbia, Russia, America, UK, and The Gulf. Daddy Cool’s dishes offer a fusion of bold flavours and time-honoured traditions, crafted with love and a sprinkle of magic, taking you on a flavourful journey around the world.
From February 6th, Daddy Cool’s Kitchen will be available for dine-in at Dubai Hill’s Eatopi, featuring as part of the Eatopi menu. It will also be accessible through Deliveroo and Talabat. Mona Kattan & Daddy Cool are launching this project together, in partnership with Kitopi, bringing this bold, flavourful experience straight to your doorstep.
For Ibrahim, Daddy Cool’s Kitchen is a deeply personal project. “I love making sure everyone is well-fed, happy, and taken care of. That’s the heart behind Daddy Cool’s Kitchen. At the end of the day, food isn’t just nutrition, it is comfort, it is community, and it’s love.”
