Peter Green has been appointed as development chef of Jones the Grocer as the Australian brand prepares to open its 23rd location.
In his new role, Green will further develop the brand’s food offering, ensuring the menu is scalable across global regions.
Jones the Grocer CEO, Yunib Siddiqui commented: “We have been lucky to remain competitive in the UAE market place for the last eight years but with our global brand acquisition last year and new franchise interest in the far east and Europe, we need to make sure that we have a menu that is relatable and adaptable.
“Peter has a depth of knowledge and experience that are really going to help bring us into the next phase of the business.”
Green, from South Africa, has spent nearly a decade in culinary management, training and development.
He has worked with top chefs in London and South Africa at restaurants including the Mount Nelson Hotel, Chez Bruce, The Ledbury and Chelsea Arts Club.
Green holds a diploma in professional cooking and baking from the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch.
Earlier this week, Catering News announced that a new Jones the Grocer venue will open at Emirates Golf Club.
Established in 1996 in Australia, Jones the Grocer stores stock specialty products and feature a signature walk-in cheese room, charcuterie and deli in a contemporary café setting.
