Chef Marta Yanci, who operates a catering company and restaurant in Dubai, will open her first international location in Belgium with Mixto Restaurant.
Located in Waterloo, Belgium, Mixto will offer tapas with beverage pairings underlined by sustainable principles.
Chef Marta Yanci commented: “The opening of Mixto in Europe seeks to showcase the best of Dubai’s food and beverage scene at the heart of Europe.
“In many areas, Dubai restaurants stand at the forefront of the culinary arts and we are proud to bring our concept to Europe. I am glad to say that the feedback from our customers, in only a few weeks since our inauguration, has been extremely positive and we are very optimistic about the growth of Mixto locally and in Europe.”
The Mixto menu changes every three months to adapt to the European seasons and the best local produce.
Highlights include smoked octopus with potato and pimento foam, chicory kimchi and tuna and sesame tartar, all paired with beverages that enhance and elevate the nuances within each dish.
Mixto will also offer a Dubai-style brunch in Belgium.
The new Waterloo venue has been decorated using bright and fresh tones, wooden accents and Spanish tiles, with bespoke furniture pieces created by a local family.
Yanci added: “This restaurant has been a concept very dear me for many years. I dreamt of opening a place where we could create flavour palates of paired food and beverages.
“Now that it is finally a reality, I am incredibly excited to represent Dubai in this new European environment and see how it is being positively embraced by our guests. We are contributing to the robust dining culture of Europe.”
