Meanwhile, an elevated Italian take on Iftar awaits at the sublime Piatti by the Beach, the Amalfi Coast-inspired waterside restaurant conceptualised by the renowned Chef Izu Ani. Here diners can indulge in a crafted menu created especially for the occasion while engulfed in the unmistakable charm of the Southern Italian Coast. Iftar starts with Minestra del giorno e Datteri, a minestrone soup to break the fast, followed by an antipasto including Burrata DOP con Pomodori datterino, Burrata with tomatoes and basil, Insalata Piatti, a mixed salad with heritage tomatoes artichoke and olives, and Polpettine al Sugo, wagyu meatballs in Neapolitan tomato ragout. This is followed by exquisite main courses of Risotto ai Porcini, a creamy mushroom risotto and Calamari e Tempura di Verdure, crispy deep-fried calamari with tempura vegetables, while dessert arrives in the form of Italian favourite, Tiramisù. A selection of hydrating mocktails and soft drinks are also included in the set menu, which is priced at AED 300.
Those seeking a stylish lounge atmosphere will find alluring views and delightful desserts at rooftop lounge, Kalian where guests can break their fast with a selection of mouth-watering sweets, including Cuore caldo al Pistacchio – a pistachio lava cake with ice cream; Bianco e nero – choux pastry with whipped cream topped with chocolate ganache, or Cannolo a modo nostro – ricotta with pistachio, chocolate and candite orange. Mocktails and soft drinks are included in the Iftar which is priced at AED 165 per person.
Later in the evening guests may enjoy an opulent Suhoor at the famous Blüthner Hall, the dazzling palatial-like dining room filled with gilded Italian furniture and sparkling Swarovski chandeliers, where a live pianist will set a sophisticated classical atmosphere from 9pm each evening.
