The eighth International Perishables Expo Middle East (WOP DUBAI) and the 11th International Plants Expo Middle East (IPM DUBAI) is underway at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Taking place from 13 – 15 November 2016, the shows have attracted 345 exhibitors from more than 34 countries.
Tarek Sibai, project manager at planetfair, the event organiser, commented: “We are proud to have attracted the industry’s key players and brought them together to share the latest in technologies available in the fresh produce industry.
“Advancements in certain areas, such as hydroponics, have the potential to increase investment in the UAE’s agriculture and level the playing field by reducing shipping costs and the need for storage, thus helping the UAE become a worldwide competitor.”
This year’s show is the biggest yet, with an additional hall accommodating a 30% increase in visitors, with an expected footfall of more than 7,000.
New country pavilions from India, Greece, South Africa and Costa Rica are on display this year.
WOP Dubai is the only International trade expo for fresh fruit and vegetable marketing in the Middle East.
