Set against Dubai’s iconic skyline, Iris unveils an incredible transformation offering entirely new and elevated guest experiences. Highlights of the venue’s redesign include a complete transformation of the outdoor lounge, expected to open later in October, and features a retractable roof, a seven-meter tree, and a glasshouse.
As Iris continues its journey to become a lifestyle destination, the brand remains committed to offering exceptional guest experiences by delivering an enhanced venue design. The new Iris features three distinct spaces: lounge, nightclub and pizza bar. To celebrate Iris Dubai’s transformation of the lounge and impressive retractable roof, the opening event happening in late October, will headline DJ and electronic music producer Damian Lazarus’ ‘Wild is Love’ event.
The Iris Indoor space will reopen as a nightclub later this year, along with an eclectic open-air pizza bar, which was previously part of the lounge.
Wassim Zouein Managing Partner, Addmind, said: “Iris is an ever-evolving brand that strives to meet the needs of the market and its guests. By taking the design to the next level, we’re constantly exceeding expectations. This state-of-the-art space caters to a new era of guest experiences and as we continue to evolve and build our community, guests can look forward to much more. We are excited to provide new cultural experiences as we expand our brand partnerships with the arts, culture and fashion communities.”
A NEW IRIS
Designed by House of Design by Suzy Habre (HODSH), Suzy Habre has created every Iris space to date. The brand has been constantly growing since it first opened in Beirut in 2011. As part of the evolution, Iris subsequently opened atop The Oberoi in Dubai and on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi in 2013. In 2019, Iris Dubai relocated to its current home in Meydan and in 2021 opened its indoor venue. Now, Iris unveils a new destination that houses a variety of experiences.
“The concept has always been to create a place that makes people feel at home. The aim was to create something that perfectly fit the Iris brand, maintaining its core identity” explains Suzy Habre.
WHAT’S NEW IN THE LOUNGE
RETRACTABLE ROOF
The most notable difference to the lounge space is the impressive new retractable roof. As guests dine under the stars and midnight approaches, the roof closes to create a modern space offering a more intimate feel. The lounge can be used all year round, elevating the Iris experience.
THE IRIS TREE
Iris’ design is based on fundamentals that mould nature, turning it into design. Nature has always been important to Iris and trees have always been signature design elements. The new lounge features a seven-metre natural tree, the largest Iris tree to date, serving as a central focal point that brings soul to the space. Taking it one step further and infusing design and technology, the lighting in the trunk and branches are connected to a DMX system. The technology installed also has the capability to release the signature Iris bubbles and haze.
THE GARDEN
The garden comprises a glasshouse scattered with greenery; the spider glass ceiling and full spider glass façade create transparency and ensure natural light floods into the interior before sunset.
INTERIOR DESIGN AND DECOR
There’s also a new bar, bringing the total to four and a backstage area behind the DJ. Guests can once again experience the signature hand-painted bathrooms, the individual pods pump out music, making them the most talked about bathrooms in town. Continuing with the contemporary theme, Iris utilizes technology and marries it with art through visual projections, immersive 3D mapping projection and holograms. This modern experience flows smoothly and progressively throughout the night with changing themes and moments. Minimalistic and zen, Iris includes lights and projections all around.
As the Iris brand grows into a new era, the focus is on exquisite mixology, dining, hospitality, music, entertainment, and culture.
