With dynamism, innovation, and seasonality at the heart of the brand, an ever-evolving culinary offering can be expected as part of the MasterChef experience which best utilizes the freshest, locally sourced seasonal produce to create exceptional dishes. Promising to deliver a fusion of flavors to Dubai, the restaurant welcomes Chef Juan Ramon Sobero Llaca as the newly appointed Executive Chef.
Hailing from Valencia, Chef Juan joins with a wealth of experience leading several teams of culinary professionals at many renowned restaurants across three different continents including roles as Head Chef at Vegamar Bodegas in Valencia, The Tapas Bar at J by Jose Andre in Mexico and Quisitapas, Westin Excelsior in Florence. In 2017 he set his sights on the Middle East where he took command as Executive Chef in both La Liga Lounge in Doha and Mercado Andaluz, St Regis in Amman, Jordan. Prior to joining MasterChef, The TV Experience, Chef Juan was Executive Chef at Casa de Tapas, Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.
Super talented and highly experienced, Chef Juan has conceived a new menu that delivers big on taste and variety, introducing a myriad of dishes that combine local influences with his exceptional culinary background. The new menu features delicious appetizers such as Romesco with Padron Peppers, made up of fried padron peppers, himalayan salt and a romesco tomato-based sauce.
Guests are also encouraged to sample the light and refreshing Octopus Carpaccio, served with confit potato, olive oil and smoked paprika, and the Soft Tacos with Bean Filling, a combination of avocado, onion, coriander, sour cream, and parmesan cheese, both masterfully created by Chef Juan.
Also on the menu are new mains including the likes of Cod Au Gratin with Honey aioli, consisting of a slow cooked piece of cod, stewed vegetables and piquillo sauce combined to create a mouthwatering and beautifully tender dish. Bringing the popular TV phenomenon to Dubai, the menu has also been updated to include dishes from recent finalist such as, the Salmon Fillet in Butter Sauce, served with tarragon, lime, and leek, created by MasterChef Poland 2020’s Rafael Fidyt.
Drawing inspiration from his Spanish roots, the new menu presents sweet additions with Chef Juan’s delectable San Sebastian cheesecake, dished up with blackberries, figs, and caramel ice cream. Offering a dietary inclusive option, the Vegan Twist is a beautiful medley of strawberry confit, guava sorbet, vegan meringue, basil and lime foam, strawberry popcorn, and strawberry chips.
Speaking on his recent appointment and the launch of the new menu, Chef Juan says, “I am delighted to take the culinary reigns at MasterChef, the TV Experience and introduce new ideas, innovative cooking techniques and plenty of enthusiasm to the restaurant. I have created a new locally inspired menu, with American, Spanish and Middle Eastern influences using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The menu melds my original dishes and the creations of the MasterChef winners, offering a spectacular experience for our guests. I can’t wait for people to come in and try our new menu, as well as our iconic Mystery Box experience.”
