Japanese concept, Kyo Restaurant and Lounge, has opened on Palm Jumeirah’s Golden Mile.
Launched by Dubai-based Dar Al Dhiyafa, Kyo means both ‘today’ and ‘entertainment’ in Japanese.
Ahmed Ragab, principal managing director of Dar Al Dhiyafa commented: “Dubai is known for its great food, but we wanted to create a place that wasn’t just about delicious food, but also about the whole dining experience the guest receives when they walk through the door.
“Our beautifully crafted menu shows guests that Japanese cuisine has so much more to it, than just sushi. The unique dishes are things you would not expect to see on the menu of a restaurant outside of a five-star hotel, with amazing flavour combinations filling each dish.”
Starters include foie gras, shiitake gyoza, and pumpkin tofu, while some of the main courses available are crispy marinated black cod and braised veal short ribs.
The venue does not have an alcohol license, however a range of mocktails are on offer.
There is temperature-controlled outdoor terrace, featuring teppanyaki stations and shisha with Japanese-inspired flavours.
Kyo is open from 7pm – 11pm on weekdays and from 7pm – midnight Friday and Saturday.
