Only a few months following their third opening in Dubai Mall, Origami continues their expansion beyond Dubai and has opened doors in Sharjah, making it the second emirate to home the charming Japanese restaurant. Origami’s newest branch, located in Sharjah’s latest popular development Aljada, features every detail of the reimagined interiors and menu that was unveiled at the branch in Dubai Mall.
Set forth to reinterpret Japanese eating in Dubai, Origami was launched in 2014 to make fresh, quality-grade sushi casually accessible, with their flagship store situated on the top floor of Al Souq Mall in Umm Suqeim 3. Eight years later, their values remain steadfast. The brand retains custom and ritual amid progression, offering a culinary experience housing respected craftsmanship in an immersive retrieval of Japan’s most revered underground sushi bars; unembellished, imperfect, and simplistic.
Guests who venture to the new location will find tantalising dishes of the Japanese fusion realm on their menu, such as Japanese tuna pizza (AED65), Wagyu beef gyoza and foie gras (AED54), short rib bao (AED45), salmon teriyaki (AED89), and prawns tsukune (AED51). Large plates to share include prawn yakisoba (AED58), braised short rib bop (AED99), and miso black cod skewer (AED99). Origami’s menu also offers an appetizing selection of maki, nigiri and sashimi, including the venue’s own signature range of Origami-style nigiri featuring unique takes on the loved Japanese dish.
Aligned with their refreshed branding, Origami brings to Sharjah their sleek, minimalistic interiors that pay homage to the hidden, underground sushi bars of Japan. Whether guests prefer a more immersive experience seated across from the chefs at work or a more intimate affair seated at a private table, Origami takes care of each guest’s experience with utmost attention to detail and finesse.
Origami is now open at Aljada in Sharjah and bookings can be made by calling +971 6 702 0079 or visiting @eatorigamisushi on Instagram.
