TANG Dubai has officially opened at Palace Downtown, introducing a refined dining experience that pairs contemporary pan-Asian cuisine with uninterrupted views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain. This marks the third location of Nicky van der Walt’s acclaimed restaurant brand, following TANG Sandton and TANG V&A Waterfront in South Africa.
Situated in the heart of Downtown Dubai, TANG spans 16,000 square feet, including a 395-seat dining area and an expansive outdoor terrace with direct views of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks. The interior, designed by award-winning architect Tristan du Plessis, features a minimalist yet luxurious aesthetic with rich tones, a marble waterfall entrance, and a walk-in wine cellar.
TANG Dubai’s menu blends Japanese izakaya-inspired dishes with classic Cantonese flavours. Signature items include Yellowtail Sashimi, Peking Duck, and Robata-grilled Wagyu beef. Their Crispy Calamari is like no other, served with jalapeño sauce and hoisin and their Tuna Tataki offers a full palate of flavour, served with onion ponzu and citrus soya. The dishes are crafted to deliver a bold profile and visual appeal, consistent with TANG’s reputation for culinary excellence.
As the third addition to the TANG family, following the acclaimed TANG Sandton and TANG V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, TANG Dubai builds on a legacy of global recognition. These award-winning venues have consistently ranked among the Top 100 Restaurants in the World, making the Dubai location a natural progression for the brand.
“Dubai is the perfect home for TANG’s next chapter,” says Nicky. “Its vibrant cosmopolitan energy aligns seamlessly with our vision of redefining luxury dining in the most iconic destinations worldwide.”
