
The highly anticipated Gulf Bar Show officially opened its doors today at Madinat Jumeirah, marking a major milestone for the region’s hospitality industry as MENA’s first and only dedicated bar and beverage trade show. Kicking off the two-day event with strong momentum, day one welcomed some of the most respected names in the global bar scene, alongside premium brands, world-class mixologists, and passionate professionals from across the industry and beyond.
The opening day saw the region’s bar community come together for a vibrant programme of experiences, education, and innovation. Attendees explored a buzzing exhibition floor featuring immersive brand activations, cutting-edge product showcases, and live demos from leading spirits labels and bar innovators. Meanwhile, the Behind Bars and Quiote Co pop-ups hosted high-energy guest shifts by some of Dubai’s most celebrated venues, including Marsa Al Arab, Gitano, Bar Du Port, Galaxy Bar, Nobu Dubai, and Buddha Bar.
A total of 20 expert-led seminars and workshops took place during the day, igniting conversations around some of the industry’s most pressing and progressive topics – from low-ABV innovation and sustainability to mental health in hospitality and more – setting a bold, future-focused tone for what’s next in the region’s bar scene.
This insightful and diverse content was brought to life by a powerhouse lineup of global speakers and thought leaders. Highlights included ‘Legends of Hospitality’ led by Peter Dorelli and guests, and ‘The Future of 0.0%’ with Nick Rees exploring the rise of non-alcoholic beverages. Stephanie Jordan tackled sustainability in ‘Drinking the Planet Better,’ while Elayne Duff shared insights on staying ahead of trends in ‘The Rise and Fall of Trends: Your Competitive Edge.’ Andrey Bolshakov spoke on crafting luxury experiences, and Alex Ruas delved into shaping the future of bars through experience in ‘Bartender-Centric Design.’
Sean Finter addressed mental health in ‘10 Steps for Creating a Healthy Bar,’ and Lauren Mote hosted ‘Creativity, Mentorship, Stewardship – The Aspirational Journey of a Bartender.’ Giancarlo Mancino celebrated Italian drinking culture in ‘Cultura dell’Aperitivo,’ while Jared Brown and Anistatia Miller uncovered the storytelling behind classic cocktails in ‘History in a Glass.’
Beyond education, The Gulf Bar Show continued to inspire with a vibrant display of brand activations, complemented by tastings and hands-on sessions. Over 200 exhibitors showcased innovations in bar technology, premium spirits, and hospitality experiences, with leading names like Diageo, Campari, Bacardí, Red Bull, Moët Hennessy, and Beam Suntory presenting exclusive tasting sessions and immersive stands.
Outside the event venue, The Gulf Bar Show also presented a star-studded line-up of guest shifts across the city in some of Dubai’s most popular venues including NOBU Dubai, Maison Dali, Mimi Kakushi, Amelia, Gitano, 1920 and Luna Bar at Four Seasons DIFC.
With another full day of programming tomorrow, April 8 from 11 AM to 9 PM, The Gulf Bar Show is set to continue its trailblazing journey, with more not-to-be-missed sessions, brand activations, and bar takeovers.
