Executive chef Fernando Galbiati has been appointed to head up the culinary team at the recently opened Clubhouse at Trump International Golf Club, Dubai.
Having first moved to Dubai in 2012, the Italian chef has worked at Cavalli Club, Bice Restaurant at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Beach and Social by Heinz Beck at The Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah.
Galbiati grew up in the small town of Seregno near Lake Como it Italy and attended private chef school at Collegio Ballerini.
He undertook five years of technical training in Atlanta, US, before returning to Italy to join Madonna di Campiglio, Portofino and Lake Garda.
He later moved to London to work under Pierre Gagnaire at Michelin-starred restaurant, Sketch.
The chef’s signature dish is paccheri pasta with fresh tomato sauce, made with three different varieties: ricotta cheese, deep fried violet eggplant and basil leaves.
The collection of venues at Trump International Golf Club comprise Trump International’s Fifth Avenue, with upscale 1920s Manhattan-inspired interiors and Italian cuisine; and The Terrace Trump International, a family-friendly restaurant serving classic American dishes from morning to night.
Meanwhile, The Ninth Sports Café offers a casual atmosphere for sports fans to watch golfers tee-off from the terrace, while Assana, the top-floor shisha lounge features views over the golf course and light Arabic sharing dishes.
Trump International Golf Club will feature an 18-hole golf course and 30,000ft2 clubhouse with a top-floor infinity pool and fitness centre.
