Deliveroo is no stranger to making sure your favourite food gets to your door; and to celebrate the launch of Impossible™ Foods in the UAE, the platform has taken their delivery game to new heights…quite literally.
Plant based foods are no longer just a fleeting trend in the UAE, they have become increasingly popular amongst UAE residents. Just last month, Deliveroo UK reported a 105% annual increase in plant based orders with other markets following suit. To mark the highly anticipated arrival of Impossible™ Foods into the UAE, Deliveroo and their much loved long-term home-grown partner, Pickl, came together to execute the ultimate delivery.
The stunt sees a Deliveroo rider executing the food delivery at the famous SkyDive Dubai. Fully kitted out and strapped to Deliveroo’s iconic rider bag, the skydiver jumps out of a plane at 5,000 feet to deliver the Impossible Burger by Pickl to none other than the #BeastoftheMiddleEast Walid Yari, making this the UAE’s first ever adrenaline-packed skydive food delivery.
Even though Deliveroo had a stream of riders excited to participate in the stunt delivery, a professional skydiver was assigned to the task to ensure the highest levels of safety.
Speaking about the stunt, Anis Harb, GM Deliveroo GCC said, “We have continued to see an increase in demand for plant-based foods in the UAE and the arrival of Impossible Foods makes this space even more interesting. At Deliveroo, we’re always looking to innovate and offer a better selection to our customers. Pickl is a homegrown brand that we love, and collaborating with them for this exciting activation sits well with who we are as a business.”
In the past, Deliveroo has swapped out their bikes to execute multiple unique deliveries in the UAE. These included delivery from a hot air balloon to campers in the desert, delivery via jet ski to a yacht party at JBR and even a delivery on a camel in the middle of sand dunes.
Pickl’s Impossible™ Burger is now available to order exclusively via Deliveroo in Dubai.
