After a successful first year of operations, INK Hotel, the 4-star boutique hotel in Al Jaddaf Waterfront, is proud to celebrate its first anniversary this January and reflect on its achievements as it capitalizes on greater opportunities. During the past year, the 5-storey hotel has built a unique reputation for being a trendy, sustainable and disruptive brand that promotes cheerful and inclusive hospitality in Dubai.
Sustaining operations amidst the COVID-19 restrictions while opening in January last year, INK Hotel has made a name for itself for its distinctive vibe focusing on sustainability. Its initiatives spanning solar panels on the rooftop, organic key cards, recycled soap dispensers, organic tea and bath amenities are a testament to its sustainability commitment. The hotel also implemented a zero-plastic program by only including glass water bottles in its rooms and its restaurant Bistro by INK. As a result, the hotel was awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ position for the ‘Sustainable Hotel of the Year’ category at the Leaders in Hospitality Awards in March 2022, shortly after opening.
As an avid supporter of local enterprises through community-focused collaborations, the hotel has built a roster of local affiliations to ensure top-notch services for its guests. Its local collaborations include partnering with Grandmother Roastery – a local café roastery to provide specialty coffee, supplying pet-friendly packages for guests at the nearby dog daycare centre Cooper’s Crib and offering premium and healthy meat-flavored dog ice-cream through a partnership with the local distributor Hawas Group. The hotel also provides training for hospitality students in its facilities. Consequently, INK Hotel was shortlisted for the ‘Breakout Property of the Year’ at the 2022 Hotelier Middle East Awards in September 2022 which recognised hotel properties for their impact in the industry.
INK Hotel has also partnered with local technology company PocketTrainer to revolutionize staff training across the food and beverage sector by saving time through shared and up to date inhouse information on food, beverage and service standards, centralized communication and more benefits.
Adding to its successful achievements, INK Hotel has most recently attracted an investor to transform the hotel’s entire rooftop into an InfraslimX Studio. The studio will encompass an innovative wellness zone featuring InfraslimX – a next-generation body shaping machine containing infrared, vacuum, oxygen, ozone, collagen and aromatherapy designed to burn fat, remove cellulite, tighten the skin, build muscle, and detoxify the body and lymphatic system. The new facility will include 3 InfraslimX treatment rooms, one massage room and an open pop-up gym. The wellness studio is planned to open in February 2023 with membership packages for hotel guests and external visitors to avail various weight loss trainings and massages.
“The past year has been full of challenges and we are proud to have emerged successful in connecting with our guests and making an impact in Dubai’s hospitality industry. Our commitment to the environment and dedication to local collaborations have enabled us to win awards and empower guests and employees while promoting our mission of developing a hotel with room for all. Our latest attraction of an investor to create a wellness studio on our rooftop is a sign of our continued visibility to the industry and growth potential which we hope to build upon during the next year,” said Judit Toth, General Manager of INK Hotel. Since the opening of INK Hotel in early 2022, Judit has won the prestigious “The Hotelier” category in the 2022 Mastercard Women SME Leaders Awards and been included in Hotelier Middle East’s General Manager Power 100 2022 that recognizes the best Hotel General Managers in the Middle East.
