Global experience design agency I-AM transforms a 19th-century building in the heart of Istanbul into Casa Foscolo—an award-winning hospitality concept that blends architecture, culture, and contemporary experience, with a focus on art, heritage, and cultural revival.
Blending architectural sensitivity with cultural storytelling, Casa Foscolo stands as one of Istanbul’s most talked-about new hospitality destinations. Since its opening, it has been named a member of the prestigious Design Hotels™ collection, listed by TIME as one of the 30 Hotels to See Worldwide, and honored at the LIV Hospitality Design Awards, a testament to the power of place-driven design.
Designed and brought to life by I-AM, a global experience design agency with offices in London, Istanbul, Riyadh, Dubai and Jakarta, Casa Foscolo is not just a hotel, it’s a narrative of Istanbul told through architecture, brand, and atmosphere.
Located in the historic Beyoğlu district, a vibrant crossroad of trade, culture, and community, Casa Foscolo reclaims its place as a space for connection and creativity. I-AM led the complete journey from architectural restoration to interior design, brand identity to spatial storytelling reviving a long-neglected 19th-century structure with elegance and intent.
“Every space has a memory, and every memory is an opportunity for experience,” says Emre Kuzlu, architect and Group Partner & Managing Director of I-AM. “Casa Foscolo is our way of listening to the city and responding with a design that’s emotional, intelligent, and lasting.”
Today, Casa Foscolo hosts not only travelers, but also artists, and locals, thanks to its integrated art gallery, café, cultural lounge and a lovely terrace with an amazing view of Golden Horn. It serves as both destination and meeting point, a space where hospitality meets heritage, and where contemporary travelers can find connection in a city steeped in layers.
The project is part of I-AM’s wider vision for hospitality, where spaces are crafted not only for function but also for meaning, and where every project begins with deep cultural insight. With a global portfolio of hotels, restaurants, and experience-led environments, I-AM continues to reshape how places are designed and how they make people feel.
