The executive team behind the launch of the second Marriott Hotel branded property in Abu Dhabi has been announced.
The Marriott Hotel Al Forsan is due to open during the first quarter of 2017 in the capital’s Khalifa City and will be a 400-bedroom five-star facility.
Richard Bleakley was appointed general manager of the Marriott Hotel Al Forsan, Abu Dhabi, in September last year.
“We are extremely proud to open Marriott Hotel Al Forsan in Abu Dhabi, a property that we believe offers facilities unlike any other resort, not just in the capital but the entire UAE,” he said.
“I am fortunate to be leading an incredibly experienced and diverse team made up of more than 50 nationalities, who bring their strengths and expertise to position the property as a destination within a destination.
“We can’t wait to open our doors and welcome guests to experience a combination of sophisticated design and innovation, as well as delivering an unrivaled hospitality experience in the capital.”

Previously, Bleakley was general manager of Courtyard by Marriott World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi. It was during this spell that he won the award for diamond manager of the year from Marriott International.
Saad Al Ghamdi has been appointed director of sales and marketing. Saad started his career with Marriott in 1999 and Marriott Hotel Al Forsan will be Saad’s fourth hotel opening with Marriott International.
Naleem Ariff, is the director of operations. He has more than 13 years of experience in the hospitality sector, having joined Marriott in 2006.
The director of engineering is Alan Paul Myers who joined Marriott International in 1997. Prior to this he was director of engineering at The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo, Egypt.
Albena Angelova Teophilova, director of finance, has over 10 years of experience with Marriott International.
The multi-property director of human resources, Petra Solle previously worked as a Human Resources professional across a variety of Marriott hotels in the United Kingdom.
