Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) is expecting an increase in the number of visitors from Europe.
That’s following RAKTDA’s involvement in a 10-day roadshow across nine cities in the UK and Europe. The delegation consisted of Waldorf Astoria & Hilton Hotels; Al Wadi Desert, Ras Al Khaimah, a Ritz-Carlton Partner Hotel; Jannah Hotels & Villas Ras Al Khaimah; Dubai Parks & Resorts and Emirates Airline.
“International markets are crucial to our goal of achieving one million visitors by the end of 2018,” said RAKTDA CEO Haitham Mattar.
“Our recent entry into the adventure and sports tourism segments will play a niche, yet important role in spurring demand. Already this strategy is paying dividends with the average length of hotel stay in Ras Al Khaimah increasing by almost 10% in Q1 to 3.9 days.
“Quite simply, we have more to shout about. Our successful launch of the region’s first commercial Via Ferrata has been widely welcomed as has our intent to invest in further development of product for active adventurers.”
The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) was established in May 2011, in order to achieve target growth of one million visitors by the end of 2018.
