Accor, a world-leading hospitality group, announces the signing of an agreement with FC Elimai to develop a new ibis hotel in Semey, the capital of Abay region and one the oldest cities in Kazakhstan. Expected to open in 2027, the 100-room hotel will offer a contemporary, cosy, and reliable hospitality experience, perfectly embodying the ibis brand ethos.
Designed with ibis’ Agora concept, which seamlessly blends modern design with comfortable functionality, ibis Semey will feature vibrant social spaces, a welcoming restaurant and bar, as well as a fully-equipped fitness centre. For business meetings and community events, the hotel will offer adaptable meeting facilities. Set along the Irtysh River, with convenient access to Semey International Airport, the hotel is positioned to become a dynamic hub for travellers and locals alike.
The signing of ibis Semey builds on Accor’s rapid expansion in Kazakhstan, where the group currently operates 13 properties across several brands. As one of the country’s key cultural and educational centres, Semey is an ideal addition to ibis’ mission of democratising travel, offering high-quality yet affordable accommodation for everyone.
Alexis Delaroff, COO of Accor New East Europe, said: “Kazakhstan offers a great mixture of culture, history and natural landscapes, which is attracting more travellers domestically and internationally. Semey is an important cultural and educational hub in Kazakhstan, and it is the perfect addition to further expand our presence in the country with another world-recognised brand.”
