African Lounge, the luxurious lounge located within Flamingo Room by tashas, has unveiled its Saturday Brunch. Starting this November, and hosted out on the venue’s beautiful outdoor terrace, the stylish brunch offers an unforgettable blend of modern, international flavours, idyllic waterfront views, live music from a vibrant percussionist, and elegant decor, all enhanced by the hotspot’s signature exotic ambience.
The brunch embodies the essence of African Lounge. Inspired by the majestic beauty and adventurous spirit of Africa, it is more than just a dining experience – it is a journey of taste and style. Set against the waters that surround Al Maryah Island, guests are invited to indulge in a curated set menu crafted by Jill Lee Okers, Culinary Director of Tashas Group, and Head Chef Stanley Thabani Manokore.
Three beverage packages are available, accompanied by sharing-style starters, a main course, and a dessert per person. Starting with light and delicate appetisers such as kale salad with fresh lemon and tahini dressing, miso grilled aubergine with honey yoghurt and quinoa praline, and corn fritters with garlic chilli paste and herb aioli, the menu effortlessly fuses flavours from the Mediterranean, South Africa, and beyond.
The selection of main courses then invites diners to choose between succulent chicken skewers, marinated king prawn skewers, or braised short-rib sliders served with chakalaka and kimchi mayo. Bringing a contemporary twist to one of the world’s most-loved comfort foods, the baked mac and cheese with truffle and black pepper offers another enticing option.
The elevated brunch concludes with a choice of decadent desserts. Featuring fruity strawberry mille-feuille, creamy mango cheesecake, and the hotspot’s iconic sticky toffee pudding with custard-flavoured ice cream, guests are provided with a taste of the best of African Lounge’s modern and international cuisine.
While the lively beats of the live percussionist further enhance the exquisite, scenic setting, the extensive beverage menus ensure that the mood remains upbeat throughout the afternoon. Offering a Non-Alcoholic Package with fresh juices, mixers, tea & coffee, and the brand’s signature Tangerine Queen Mocktail; a House Package with premium wines, and signature cocktails; and a luxurious Champagne Package with Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne, the enticing refreshments are designed to suit every mood and preference.
African Lounge’s new Brunch takes place every Saturday from 12 pm to 4 pm, from November 9 onwards.
Packages are priced at AED 360 for non-alcoholic (fresh juices, signature mocktails, mixers and tea & coffee), AED 465 for house beverages (wine, beer and signature cocktails), and AED 640 for champagne (premium wines and Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne). Each package includes a selection of starters to share for the table, one main per person, and one dessert per person.
