German-born David Maiwald has joined Atana Musandam, Oman, as executive chef.
Maiwald has worked with international hotel groups across the globe such as Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Jumeirah Group and Kempinski Hotels in locations such as Azerbaijan, the Maldives, Bahrain, Munich and Moscow.

“We are confident that Maiwald will be implementing exciting, new culinary concepts at Atana Musandam and at the same time further strengthen the community spirit at our hotel.”
Atana Hotels is an Oman-founded hospitality brand Managed by Dhiaffa, a subsidiary of Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN).
The brand is focused on offering guests a traditional Omani experience.
Atana Musandam’s signature all-day dining restaurant Al Mawra offers international cuisine, and gives guests the opportunity to try traditional Omani and fusion Omani dishes.
The hotel features 110 rooms and has a strict non-alcohol policy, while Atana Khasab, the second hotel in the company’s portfolio has 60 rooms and is licensed.
Both properties are situated on the northern tip of the Musandam Peninsula in Oman, bordering the UAE.
