Simon Wood, the MasterChef UK Season 11 winner, is the latest TV champion confirmed for a guest chef residency at MasterChef, the TV Experience: the world-first, screen-to-plate restaurant concept in Millennium Place Marina.
Wood will take over the kitchen at MasterChef, the TV Experience, from September 30 to October 4, including an exclusive masterclass on September 30, where the TV star will conduct a Q&A with diners and oversee a cooking tutorial featuring two main course dishes available throughout his Dubai residency.
Open to a maximum of 10 guests, the ‘Wood Masterclass’ session will see participants try canapes throughout the session, before both mains are served to each participant. Held from 5-7pm, the course is priced at AED 489 with soft drinks, or AED 649 with house grape.
“After flying to Dubai in April for the opening of the first-ever MasterChef, the TV Experience restaurant, I’ve spent the last couple of months trialing different dishes that I believe will appeal to the city’s cosmopolitan population of discerning diners,” says Woods.
“It’s a real honour to be invited to host a residency at the restaurant – I’m sure it’s going to take me right back to 2015 when we filmed the show, especially as the dessert I’m serving is the same one I created for judges during the final cook-off!”
For Wood’s residency menu, diners can expect a five-course menu including dishes such as asparagus panna cotta, wagyu tartare and more.
