Peruvian restaurant, Coya Dubai has launched a Ramadan initiative to distribute meals to labour camps throughout the holy month.
In partnership with a group of volunteers, the team will prepare, pack and hand deliver 1,173 meals with slow digesting ingredients, to eight labour camps in Al Quoz.
Cedric Toussaint, director of operations, Coya Dubai commented: “We are tremendously excited for the opportunity to embark on this special new journey of sharing and self-discovery this year.
“While the following month is a time of patience, generosity, mercy, sharing and a cleansing of the soul, we feel that engaging our community and continuing to support initiatives like this is extremely important not only during the holy month of Ramadan but year round.
“Being able to share the joy of one of the oldest traditions- breaking bread and share genuine dining experiences is the reason why many of us do what we do and will be something that continues to remain close to our hearts.
“We hope that this will be the start of many future initiatives that the team at Coya Dubai could be involved in and look forward to being able to share future initiatives like this.”
The initiative began on Saturday 11 June and will continue every Tuesday until the end of June, on the 14, 21, and 28.
Coya Dubai is open Sunday – Saturday from 7pm – 12.30am throughout the month of Ramadan.
