Honeywell is presenting a range of new solutions for surveillance cameras at The Hotel Show Dubai to provide more extensive security in hotels without intimidating guests.
Fahmi Jabri, strategy and marketing director Middle East, Russia, Turkey and Africa, said: “Security is a necessity for the security of employees and guests and we need to strike a balance between inundating customers with cameras and still protecting them.
“We’re coming up with innovative solutions such as the 360 degrees camera or the multi-sensory camera which cover a wide area – so you’re still getting the security you require but it’s less intimidating.”
In addition, the company is looking to roll out analytics technology in the next six to 18 months to increase the efficiency of security surveillance, particularly in large properties.
Jabri explained: “In resorts were there are lots of cameras, the security team will not be able to watch all of them at once and make sure it’s safe, so we’re introducing analytics technology to check for any abnormalities for the operator, so for example if someone leaves an object, it will sound an alarm. We are trying to adopt technology to make the life of hoteliers and more efficient.”
As well as its camera technology, Honeywell is showcasing new fire safety solutions at the show, including its fire alarm aspiration sensing technology.
“Guests don’t like to see smoke detectors in the middle of the room with the flashing light so we came up with the aspirations smoke detection where you can just insert a small tube into the room – nobody can see it and it delivers a better solution than the regular smoke detectors,” says Jabri.
Honeywell also offers a range of connected hospitality technology, from room management solutions to security and building automation.
