Dubai Properties’ Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is hosting the 50th anniversary of PizzaExpress.
The celebrations are set to run from the 4 – 27 February, with live music and a pizza menu served from a brand new pop-up Pizza Express restaurant.
“The Jazz fan base music is steadily growing in the UAE. We are pleased to offer these music enthusiasts an exciting opportunity to explore their passion and enjoy live independent jazz music through Pizza Express,” said Dubai Properties executive director of retail and commercial properties, Mohamed bin Essa.
This event also has the objective of reinforcing JBR’s position as a key tourism destination in the UAE.
The event offers an opportunity for JBR’s residents and visitors to enjoy live jazz music in an open-air setting, and special food deals.
Founded in 1965, Pizza Express has been celebrating its 50th year in restaurants around the world, with the UAE adopting a focus on jazz music – a genre that has formed part of the brand’s history.
Live jazz performances will take place from 6pm – 9pm during the week, and will run until 10:30pm on a Thursday and Friday.
PizzaExpress general manager, Jon Green said: “Pizza Express is an iconic international pizza brand which has made a significant impact in the UAE. Jazz@Pizza Express in JLT has proven to be a successful model, bringing to our customers their favourite food and live music.
“As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we wanted to extend our offering to the wider public by taking the PizzaExpress brand to one of the most recognized tourist destinations in the UAE, JBR.”
PizzaExpress has more than 440 restaurants in the UK and a further 70 restaurants across nine international markets.
The brand has seven branches in the UAE including Dubai World Trade Center, Ibn Battuta Mall and (the newly refurbished) Safa Park, Fujairah City Centre and the latest opening at World Trade Centre Mall in Abu Dhabi.
