Gran Meliá Hotels and Resorts has teamed up with Spanish fashion company The 2nd Skin to provide dresses for the brand’s on property ambassadors, the Lady In Red.
The two distinctive designs will be worn at the brand’s flagship properties, Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques in Madrid and Gran Meliá Nacional Rio in Rio de Janeiro.
They will later be worn by Ladies In Red at all Gran Meliá hotels.
The 2nd Skin Co designer Antonio Burillo said: “The Lady in Red dresses are elegant and feminine, which we feel perfectly embodies the persona of the Lady in Red. It has been a pleasure working with the Gran Meliá brand on this project. “Seeing our design in this sophisticated environment confirms that fashion, art, design and architecture can come together to produce a beautiful and harmonious result.”

Their luxury and contemporary womenswear range complements the philosophy of Gran Meliá Hotels & Resorts. “Their designs for the new Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques and Gran Meliá Nacional Río de Janeiro hotels are unique and have captured the heart and soul of each property.”
The Gran Meliá brand has also commissioned a project showcasing work from some of Spain’s most talented photographers and designers.
These include renowned photographer and artistic director Inés Ybarra, who has brought the Lady In Red story to life through a short film.
The footage was shot on location at Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques, and is accompanied by a soundtrack composed by Italian artist Amilcare Ponchielli.
The choreography is a combination of contemporary dance and classical ballet, which celebrates the property’s architecture and design.
Meliá has brands in both the UAE and Qatar.
