In celebration of the upcoming Dubai Food Festival (DFF), southeast Asian culinary hotspot LAO is offering a cooking class every Saturday of the festival.
Located in the heart of Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, the restaurant will welcome six guests each week in this limited-edition opportunity and will be hosted by specialty Asian Sous Chef Kelvin Wong.
The dishes prepared will illustrate the rich traditions embedded in Vietnamese culture, such as summer vegetable rolls, vegetable pho, stir fried noodles, Saigon crêpes and more, all part of the new vegan “Chay Time” menu at LAO.
Meaning vegetarian or vegan in Vietnamese, “chay” cooking is based on using only the freshest ingredients to deliver a healthy dish packed with flavour. While cooking, the chef will also educate DFF guests on the history and significance of chay cooking and the eating culture in Vietnam, truly transporting them to southeast Asia.
The cooking class is AED 299 per person inclusive of three courses, soft beverage and tea or coffee. At the end of their cooking class, each participant will receive a cooking class certificate, the recipe for each dish, an assortment of Asian ingredients and a special apron.
