MonViso, Dubai’s premier Italian Alpine mineral water, has partnered with Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) this year for a powerful initiative that will allow Dubai residents and visitors to contribute to a noble cause.
“Take Water. Give Life” is a three-year-old initiative by the brand which aims to raise funds for Al Jalila Foundation, a global philanthropic organisation founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, dedicated to transforming lives through medical research, education and treatment.
“Take Water. Give Life” – an original sales donation programme designed by MonViso – donates AED 1 to Al Jalila Foundation for every one litre sold by programme participants. These include participating retailers, hospitality venues, sports clubs, and online orders placed directly on the MonViso website.
Additionally, MonViso also collects and recycles empty plastic bottles from various locations free of charge. Used bottles are handed over to Dgrade, an organisation that uses innovative technologies to produce fibre from plastic waste, to be transformed into 100% recycled fiber or a 50-50 cotton mix t-shirts. These t-shirts are sold on MonViso’s website for AED 75, out of which AED 33 will be donated to the Al Jalila Foundation.
In line with Dubai Fitness Challenge’s spirit of being “In it, together!” MonViso has placed recycling bins across the various Fitness Villages to ensure proper disposal of bottles, encouraging the community to band together and recycle.
Participants will also be able to spot “MonViso gladiators” at these locations, who have been appointed to educate and assist the public in joining the programme. By the end of the 30-day challenge, MonViso aims to collect a total of 150,000 bottles.
“We believe goodness should be simple and sincere, and therefore we have ensured that every aspect of our business model offers the consumer simple yet efficient ways to join the Take Water. Give Life,” says MonViso CEO Stefano Iorini.
“Our partnership with Dubai Fitness Challenge is a strategic step towards inspiring a wider audience to take the goodness further at a time when the city is rallying towards a common goal. We’re in our third year of the Take Water. Give Life initiative where we have donated AED 482,000 so far and collected 12.6 tonnes of plastic bottles, and hope to reach out to and inspire more people to become conscious citizens.”
