Palazzo Versace opens the first of its luxury hotels in Asia within the Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau – the resort that emulates the same luxury of Classicism through a contemporary lens as the House of Versace itself.
To enter Palazzo Versace is to step into the House’s signature luxury lifestyle and be fully immersed in its iconic codes. The hotel is evocative of an Italian Palazzo, and Versace’s Milanese heritage and signature flair are immediately evident. Guests are welcomed at the expansive lobby by a magnificent representation of Versace’s home in Milan – the Palazzo at Via Gesù 12 that houses the Versace Atelier – crafted from over 80,000 hand-laid enamel mosaic tiles. The Medusa head that symbolizes the House, the geometric Greca motif, and the Barocco print are each rendered in alternate craft finishes – as decorative sculptures, lush custom carpets, and incorporated into terrazzo floors and mosaics. A design expression unique to Palazzo Versace Macau interplays this Italianate aesthetic with symbols rooted in local Chinese custom – the chrysanthemum flower and an ornate dragon – which feature throughout the hotel.
Taking over one of the resort’s three towers, the hotel offers 271 rooms and suites across 12 floors. The Italian Palazzo feel from the hotel’s public areas continues to the private rooms through bespoke linens and upholsteries, Versace Home textiles and lighting, and Italian terrazzo flooring and mosaics.
Amenities include two Italian restaurants, a wellness retreat, personal training studio, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
The finest Italian gastronomy is presented at Don Alfonso 1890 and La Scala del Palazzo, the hotel’s two dining areas. The MICHELIN-starred, family-owned Don Alfonso 1890 presents the true flavours of Southern Italy in a setting lavishly adorned in Venetian terrazzo, featuring private dining rooms, a cocktail area, and open kitchen.
La Scala del Palazzo evokes the grand staircase of the Versace Palazzo at Via Gesù 12 in Milan in a warm and playful décor. The world-renowned Italian coffee culture can be experienced, along with a discerning culinary offering catering to breakfast, lunch, dinner, and the Italian aperitivo hour. Classic dining service features Versace Meets Rosenthal porcelain in collection prints.
Completing the full Versace lifestyle are a selection of wellness offerings, including spa facilities with private treatment rooms, a Versace rendition of the Turkish Hammam, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Each is resplendent in mosaic and marble and are ultimate expressions of Versace’s contemporary take on Classical beauty and luxury. Guests pass through a waterfall entryway to access the swimming pool area and are greeted by the hotel’s thematic dragon which spreads the length of the pools in mosaic by Fantini Mosaici, the fourth-generation Milanese artisans whose dedication to Italian craftsmanship is equally fundamental to the Versace House. Adjacent to the indoor swimming pool is a tranquil bar area, and doors open to the Romanesque outdoor pool set within the private hotel gardens.
Palazzo Versace is the world’s first fashion-branded hotel, and now counts two destinations: Dubai in the United Arab Emirates and Macau, China.
