Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) and Maritime & Mercantile International (MMI), both subsidiaries of the Emirates Group have opened seven dining venues at Dubai International Airport’s new Concourse D at Terminal 1.
ELR has introduced the region’s first Pret A Manger, a UK sandwich and coffee brand and The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, the debut of Wolfgang Puck’s The Kitchen brand, which serves the celebrity chef’s most popular dishes in a casual setting, offering travellers a grab-and-go deli counter and seated dining.
Kevin Zajax, chief commercial officer, ELR, commented: “At Concourse D, we have some new partnerships and we are delighted to be bringing Pret A Manger to the region, as well as being selected to work with chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck for our first opening together.
Another new outlet created by ELR is The Draft House, a US vintage-inspired sport’s bar with a view of the runway. Multiple television screens offer 24/7 sporting coverage from across the globe.
ELR has also expanded its existing roster of existing dining options, with family-friendly UK restaurant, Giraffe to open its fourth venue, including its first caravan ‘grab-and-go’ concept.
The Noodle House, in partnership with Jumeirah Restaurant Group, opens its first airport location, which will also be the brand’s first 24-hour restaurant in the world, and the first to offer a breakfast menu.
Costa Coffee celebrates the opening of its 21st outlet at Dubai International with a bespoke store design featuring a giant custom built, 3-sided LED screen.
MMI, which celebrates its 100th year, expands its footprint with the opening of its sixth Le Clos, the fine wine and luxury spirits retailer.
The retailer will introduce its new ‘Try Before You Buy’ offer, with the opportunity to sample 16 wines, 11 of these which available on a complimentary basis.
