Turkish hospitality group, Rixos Hotels, is currently in talks for potential expansion plans in to new markets including the negotiation of new hotels in Saudi Arabia.
According to Rixos Hotels senior vice president operations, EMEA and Far East, Erkan Yildirim, Rixos are currently eyeing new markets in the Gulf, Iran and North Africa. A statement by Rixos Hotels in the region said that Yildrim is currently working on building the Rixos brand in Saudi Arabia. “Mr Yildrim said Rixos is negotiating for the opening of new hotels in Saudi Arabia, including in Makkah, Jeddah, Riyadh and Madinah as well as new properties in Asia, Africa, Russia and Vietnam.”
The group, which was founded in 2000, currently operates two hotels within the GCC, both located in the UAE, Rixos the Palm and Rixos Bab Al Bahr, with a further 15 hotels operating in Turkey. The current pipeline for Rixos will double the group’s presence in the UAE, with the opening of a second Dubai project, the Rixos JBR, plus the group’s debut in the capital, located on Saadiyat Island.
Globally, Rixos Hotels operates a total of 27 hotels and resorts. Outside of the Middle East, Rixos is also considering expansion into Germany and the UK.
