What are you looking to find in a Hospitality Leaders Awards winner?
Passion, vision, positive, pro-active leadership qualities, as being of service to different stakeholders within the business is a balancing act between owners, operators and brands, staff and guest priorities; I look at how a candidate champions “the juggling act” of the above at the best possible level.
What category are you most excited about and why?
Each and everyone of them, I am comfortable in and can appreciate all of the categories and disciplines, and as I have real life experience in most categories making judging any of them fun and interesting;
Why are awards like these important for the industry?
Recognition is of immense value, especially in this industry demanding long, tough work time. Competition can bring the best out in people, inspiring people to excel; Being in a dominantly “people business” can be demanding and exceeding people’s and stakeholders’ expectations definitely deserves being recognised and rewarded.
