Marriott Executive Apartments Dubai Creek has opened Skye & Walker, a new restaurant offering guilt-free nutritious dishes including vegan, raw and gluten free choices.
The menu is inspired by fresh, local ingredients, sourced through a few handpicked partners and features Slow Roasted Beet Salad, Quinoa & White Bean Pita Pockets, and Organic Beef Burgers.
Desserts include Matcha Chia Pudding and Raw Carrot Cake.
Marriott Executive Apartments Dubai Creek general manager Hossein Garan commented: “Travellers and Dubai residents alike are very health conscious and want to continue their balanced diet whether staying in hotels on vacation or on business trips or just eating out with family and friends.
“We are excited to now offer tasty and healthy options now on this side of the Creek in Dubai.”
The venue was completely refurbished and the sustainable concept was not only incorporated into the food, but also into the building materials, the furniture and the operation of the restaurant.
For example, the existing granite countertops were crushed and re-used for the new concrete floor, and the outlet’s décor also has elements made from natural, recycled and reclaimed materials.
Reclaimed solid scaffold planks have been used as hanging teardrop features, display units and furniture pieces.
The focus is on recycling, reducing waste, saving water and electricity, and using non-toxic cleaning materials and biodegradable take-out containers.
Colette van Jaarsveld, managing partner at Arcology International, which designed the eatery, commented: “When we dig deep down to the core and compare values, visions and needs, we are all the same and it is this very same spirit of inclusion that we wanted to embody in Skye & Walker.
“The feeling that this is your space as much as it is mine, the feeling of belonging, the feeling of coming home.”
Skye & Walker, located on the ground floor of the Marriott Executive Apartments Dubai Creek in Deira, is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.
