On 12 February, The Black Lion, Dubai at The H Hotel will introduce ‘Freakshakes’ – a dessert drink trend that went viral on social media in the last quarter of 2015.
Freakshakes are dessert drinks served in a mason jar, which overflow with sweet ingredients, including cream, chocolate and caramel sauce.
The trend for freakshakes started in a café called Patissez in Canberra, Australia, before travelling to London, and now Dubai.
There are seven Freakshake options at The London-inspired Black Lion Dubai, priced at 45 AED.
These are:
- Strawberry & Jam Doughnut
- Pistachio & White Chocolate
- Raspberry Eton Mess
- Maple & Pecan with Slice of Tart
- Caramel & Banoffee
- Chocolate Milkshake with Cookies.
The Black Lion, a concept by Dubai-based Gates Hospitality, is an East End London inspired gastropub serving tapas-style British food, such as short rib Korean buns and sesame prawn toast and Cornish pasties.
The venue opened in July 2015, and offers a weekly Friday evening brunch with soul music, funk and hip-hop and the outlet’s signature cocktails such as the hops sours, Aunt Sally, and gin n’ juice.
A traditional British roast is served on a Saturday and Sunday, with live sport on the big screen.
