Hailing from Mexico, Chef Maria brings over 10 years of culinary experience to the vibrant Trader Vic’s restaurant at Hilton Dubai Jumeirah. A graduate of Universidad del Valle de Mexico, Maria holds a B.S in the Restaurant Management.
Ambitious and self-driven, Maria ventured overseas to the United Arab Emirates in 2015. Since then, Maria’s career has seen her working across a number of establishments in the United Arab Emirates, such as Maya, Modern Mexican Kitchen, and Asia de Cuba in Abu Dhabi to name a few – where she held the position of Chef De Cuisine.
Talking about her appointment Maria says: “I’m very excited to join Trader Vic’s team and take on a new challenge working for a renowned global brand. I have tremendous respect for the Trader Vic’s legacy and its long successful tradition. Trader Vic’s core is delicious food, which I will look to pair up with consistently great customer experiences since I enjoy engaging with diners at my restaurants. I will also focus on adding a bit of Latino spice to Trader Vic’s menu, honouring my roots.”
With Chef Maria’s appointment , Trader Vic’s JBR – part of Hilton Dubai Jumeirah – is now fully female-led, with Marion Sheridan as the venue manager and Loredana Stanculescu as the bar manager. Diversity and inclusion has always been at the core of Hilton’s workplace culture as the global hospitality company continues to cultivate an environment that inspires, encourages and enables professional growth.
“I heard about Hilton’s commitment to diversity before joining the company and I am delighted to join a company that is so supportive of female talent, ” says Maria and continued. “I’m thrilled to join Marion and Lorendana and show what female leadership can do in our the industry.
