Mixologist Ivan Ostapov has joined OSH, La Mer’s contemporary licensed Uzbek restaurant as Bar Manager.
Offering diners flavour inspirations from The Silk Road and the Middle East, OSH has brought on Ostapov, who comes from Russia but with a connection to Uzbek heritage, to serve up more of the culture through their distinctive bar offering. His role at OSH will include finding new and working with existing suppliers (negotiation, special pricing, events); optimizing and developing a new cocktail menu, beverage list and enhancing operations; building and training the bar team; and menu engineering, to control costs, pricing and the inventory.
Prior to joining OSH, Ostanov has worked at prominent Dubai venues including Shanghai Me, The Maine Oyster Bar & Grill and Coya. In Moscow, he worked at Strelka Bar, Lovely Place 22.13 and Secret Bar from 2009 to 2014.
“It’s great to have Ivan join our team, bringing his wealth of experience and creativity to OSH. Our guests are excited to try his new beverage mixes that will pair well with our food offering. He will be an asset to our existing team, and we will continue to create wonderful flavour journeys for our diners,” says Jony Romanov, General Manager of OSH.
“I’m very excited to have joined the team and to head up the bar as manager. I have some very special ideas to add to the beverage menu and can’t wait to share it with the patrons of OSH. My goal is to enhance the flavour of the dishes with the right beverage accompaniment and to strengthen OSH’s incredible bar offering further,” explained Ivan Ostanov, Bar Manager at OSH.
Named after the popular Uzbek dish, OSH offers a vast variety of delectable dishes representing traditional cuisine served in a modern style. The venue takes pride in serving original recipes without localizations or alterations, preserving their authenticity. Also, with the majority of ingredients brought from Uzbekistan directly, diners can expect tastes and flavours as true to their origins as possible.
The licensed venue has designated areas inside the restaurant and lounges on the first floor, offering beverages created by their artistic mixologists while the ground floor terrace is suited for more family friendly gatherings. Diners can enjoy views of the Dubai skyline or the pristine La Mer coast.
