1640 Bistronomy, a home-grown gastronomical bistro & culinary hub, and the region’s first, all-year-round pop-up venue showcasing new F&B creations within a vibrant, trendy setting, opened its doors in Al Wasl, Jumeirah. Promising an authentic European Bistro experience, 1640 Bistronomy will act as an evolving space that showcases its own portfolio of F&B brands, whilst also functioning as a solution for up-and-coming F&B brands to pop up their brands for a limited time or rent the culinary hub for product development & trials.
The brainchild of Restaurant Secret’s Inc, the region’s largest & oldest F&B Incubator firm, 1640 Bistronomy was built to provide Dubai with a multi-purpose F&B hub that offers superlative dining experiences, whilst nurturing entrepreneurial spirit by presenting an affordable pre-launch solution for start-up home grown restaurants within a full-fledged experiential F&B unit. Supported by Founder Gabrielle Mather’s 20 years of experience developing more than 400 F&B businesses & brands for Dubai & the world, 1640 Bistronomy is a next gen F&B space that will offer two unique dining experiences throughout the day; a breakfast pop-up led by a key brand from 8 am-12 pm, followed by the bistro’s very own, all-day dining menu from noon until late.
Piloting the morning pop-up concept will be La Serre Reserve by La Serre Bistro & Boulangerie, Dubai’s chic, award-winning French restaurant. La Serre Reserve will utilize the space from 8 am-12 pm to reveal a new breakfast menu featuring their favourite classics such as Eggs Benedict & Pain Perdu along with brand new limited edition creations like Crêpe soufflée Japonaise, Steak et oeufs & Red Velvet crêpes within an al fresco setting. Patrons can also enjoy the unique all day beverage offerings from 1640’s Specialty coffee counter & Zero Bar including signature coffees, mocktails and iced teas.
The all-day dining menu is seasonal chef-driven, with a focus on Josper Grill being the foundational method of cooking meats, seafood & fresh vegetables, available from 12 pm until late. Patrons can expect dishes which celebrate both the essence and renditions of favourites from European cuisine, as well as local influences. The culinary team have combined traditional European cooking techniques using locally-sourced ingredients, with innovative twists that invites guests to indulge in gourmet flavours. The 1640 all-day dining menu is set to transport diners to the heart of Europe, where every dish tells a story of tradition and refinement.
The menu will feature a combination of grilled-and-slow cooked meats & features prime cut steaks including the A5 grade Wagyu Steaks, the Gentleman’s Angus Ribeye served with Rosemary Butter, Hasselback potatoes and pepper sauce. Operating from 12 pm until late, the European menu at 1640 Bistronomy boasts an array of delectable options to please any palate. Starters have a fair share of raw ceviches & beef tartar, salads & grazing boards with assorted breads, dips & flavoured butters. The menu boasts soul food like Osso Bucco, hearty Ragu Papardelle as well as seasonal offers of fresh white or black truffle with a table side pasta experience.
Spanning 200 square meters, the venue encompasses intimate 170 sq meters indoor and 30 square meters outdoor seating serenaded by lounge, jazz and world music. The interior is reminiscent of European architecture features classic bistro floorings, fixtures and lighting with traditional modern finishings. Brass accents create the mood for muted glam to create an inviting atmosphere for diners. The picturesque garden with lush greenery will be the new go-to place for morning breakfast, lunch or late night coffee to the beat of Bossa Nova music. With the ambiance always set for an evening of old charm, it calls for a night of great meals and special occasions.

Providing a cross- collaboration space for RSI’s portfolio of restaurants, future planned pop-ups at 1640 Bistronomy will feature a seafood boards and buckets style called 5FISH, and Protein Bistro, a nutritious brand built for health and fitness enthusiasts.
