Following their recent #1 ranking on The Middle East and North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Orfali Bros brings the UAE back to acclaim on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, ranking an impressive #46. The list reflects the opinions and experiences of 1080 anonymous voters from 27 regions across the globe and is a key source of dining inspiration for global gastronomes. The voters are comprised of chefs and restaurateurs, food writers and well-travelled gourmets, with 50% of voters being female and 50% male. The 2023 top 50 list features two restaurants from the UAE, with Orfali Bros appearing alongside Tresind Studio on the list. The list was announced at the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia on the 20th of June.
Says The World’s 50 Best Restaurants of Orfali Bros, “Three immigrant chef brothers from Aleppo, Syria have created a genuinely unique dining experience on the back of personal perseverance, brilliant storytelling and endless curiosity. There are no restrictions to what dishes the team might create, based on anything they love to eat. ‘Rules are meant to be bent and broken, with respect to our tradition’ is one of the Orfalis’ mantras. Prepare to be hit with surprising combinations that reference art, travel, Syrian traditions and personal experiences.”
Says Chef Mohamad Orfali of the ranking, “Being No.1 on MENA’s 50 best is already such a huge honour, but to be included in the World’s 50 Best was always a dream and I’m so very happy this dream has now come true. We have worked towards this for years and it’s thanks to the people; the team, our loyal customers, we are like a family and I am so grateful. To sit alongside so many peers we respect and admire, to be able to represent Orfali Bros and the food of my Syria and my Dubai, this is truly something for which we are so grateful and so thankful.”
