Homegrown Mexican/ Latin American restaurant, Zoco, will open at Al Habtoor City’s The Atrium this September.
Zoco marks the second F&B venue to open at The Atrium, following the recent launch of casual British gastropub, The Rose & Crown.
Located on level two of The Atrium, Zoco will serve re-imagined traditional dishes in an authentic Latin American setting, with vibrant colours, re-used industrial elements, and resident and guest DJs playing laid-back Latin music.
The Zoco team is led by head chef Jimmy Rojas who has 29 years of experience, including a role as chef de cuisine in Michelin-starred restaurant Annua in Spain, and another as guest chef at Moto in Chicago.
Commenting on his culinary style, chef Rojas said: “I like to respect the product and enhance its natural flavour while playing with different textures and flavours, using a variety of culinary techniques to create harmony in each dish. The guest should have a sensorial experience with my food.”
The bar manager, Sergio Luca, has been brought in from Dubai’s Palazzo Versace, and Kenneth Ooi, former restaurant manager at Asia de Cuba, Abu Dhabi, will lead the front-of-house team.
Zoco will be open daily from 5pm to 2am.
The Atrium is a collection of dining and entertainment venues at Al Habtoor City, a hospitality and leisure development consisting of three residential towers and three five-star hotels (The St. Regis Dubai; W Dubai – Al Habtoor City and The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City).
