Besh Turkish Kitchen, an authentic, casual Turkish restaurant is set to open in September on level 5, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.
The concept has been developed in collaboration with Vedat Basaran, a well-known chef and food culture researcher from Istanbul.
Basaran is a board member of Turkish food supplier Nar Gourmet, the company from which Besh will source its olive oil.
The menu takes inspiration from traditional Turkish dishes, with spices and flour imported from Turkey.
Meat will be prepared using traditional Turkish cooking methods, for example using a mangal (Middle Eastern barbeque), with one of the signature dishes the ‘Karisik Izgara’ (mixed grill).
The interiors have been designed to reflect the menu, with tiles and ceramics offering a rustic, casual vibe.
Traditional cooking equipment is to be displayed in the open kitchen, such as Guveç clay pots and a domed oven, used to bake pides (flatbread) and lahmacuns (Turkish pizza).
A team of Turkish chefs will oversee culinary operations.
Shisha will be available on the outdoor terrace throughout the day.
