The inaugural GulfHost Innovation Awards is set to launch this week with the objective of recognising and celebrating the technology shaping the future of hospitality across the MENA region.
Taking place on Monday 18 September at the Armani Hotel Dubai, the gala dinner will host 280 hospitality industry movers and shakers
Forty-six of the region’s hospitality equipment and solutions suppliers entered the GulfHost Innovation Awards, showcasing their products and services in one of five categories.
The categories are: Best Back of House Equipment Innovation (Hot), Best Back of House Equipment Innovation (Other), Best Front of House Equipment Innovation, Best Bar or Coffee Equipment Innovation and Best Green or Eco-Friendly Equipment Innovation.
Among the independent judging panel, endorsed by Strategic Partner International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA), are Kieran Mallon, general manager, Al Futtaim Retail; Nicolas Smalberger, corporate chef, JA Resorts & Hotels and Akhilesh Bahl, founder & CEO, Malt & Salt Hospitality.
The winners will be selected on Monday evening from the fifteen finalists, with the ceremony to be followed by a live cook-off with award-winning chefs including Silvena Rowe (Omnia), James Atherton (Marina Social), Robert Nilsson (Five Palm Jumeriah) and Colin Clague (Ruya).

- Best Green or Eco-Friendly Equipment Innovation – HOBART GmbH

The GulfHost Innovation Awards is taking place as part of Dubai International Hospitality Week (18 – 20 September).
Dubai International Hospitality Week includes six co-located trade shows: GulfHost, owned and organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC); The Hotel Show and The Leisure Show, owned and organised by DMG Events; and The Speciality Food Festival (DWTC), Seafex Middle East (DWTC) and Yummex ME, jointly organised by DWTC and Kölnmesse.
