Contemporary North West Indian, Zafran Indian Bistro has reopened at City Centre Mirdif, Dubai following a three-month refurbishment.
The restaurant, established by Foodmark – the F&B division of Landmark Group – has been overhauled to reflect a new brand avatar, with a lighter, fresher menu and more casual interiors.
New culinary and operations manager Gaurav Singh has been appointed to oversee the relaunched venue.
The enhanced menu features lighter versions of Indian classics such as tandoori kebabs, laal maas, rogan Josh, biryani, aloo tikka and butter chicken.
Rakshak Puri, general manager, Asian Dining at Foodmark said: “A team of highly skilled and trained chefs ensure our guests receive an exceptional food experience every day.
“Our food is made from the finest quality, natural ingredients available and is full of flavour yet light on the stomach.
“The stylish contemporary interiors, comfortable and relaxed seating and ideal lighting, blend seamlessly with an exceptional, committed service to create a perfect Indian dining experience that stays true to our purpose,” he added.
The restaurant has an open kitchen made of carbonised wood with brass detailing, which reflects the chargrilling method of the traditional tandoor.
Richard Barclay, COO Foodmark said: “Zafran has an edge in price and quality that will set it apart from the competition.
“By providing exceptional value, amazing authentic Indian cuisine and an outstanding customer service, Zafran is certain to resonate with Dubai’s discerning diners.”
Zafran Indian Bistro has a second Dubai location at Marina Mall, which is set to close this month to undergo a refurbishment in line with the new branding.
The concept also recently opened in Kuwait as part of the brand’s regional expansion, which will see three new venues open across the GCC by April next year.
Zafran will open in Saudi Arabia at Rubeen Plaza this October, and a second KSA outlet will launch in April 2017 at Levels, North Ring Road.
This year will also mark Zafran’s Qatar debut, with an outlet to open in Mall of Qatar in November.
In addition, talks are under way for more UAE outlets for the brand.
Zafran originally opened in 2010 at City Centre Mirdif and in 2011, the Dubai Marina Mall location opened.
The 150-seat City Centre Mirdif restaurant is open to guests for lunch as well as dinner from 11 am – 11 pm on weekdays and 11am – 12 am on weekends.
