Food delivery app Deliveroo has launched Deliveroo Editions in the UAE, making it possible for restaurants to reach customers in areas beyond their current delivery range.
The first UAE Deliveroo Editions is located in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers and is equipped with six full-sized custom-made kitchen spaces.
Anis Harb, general manager of Deliveroo GCC said: “Deliveroo’s mission has always been to provide the best food delivery experience in the world, and we are constantly innovating in order to achieve that.
“The Editions concept makes good on our promise to widen access to the best food in Dubai, reducing delivery times for customers while at the same time helping our partners to grow their presence in the market. This is a huge development for us and we are excited to bring a bigger selection of great restaurants to this food-loving city, starting today.”
The company will provide restaurant partners with the infrastructure – including bespoke kitchens, local marketing support and a fleet of riders – allowing them to launch bespoke menus catered to local tastes.
Deliveroo can identify cuisines missing in an area, predict customer demand, and select restaurants that are likely to succeed in that specific area with a delivery-only concept.
The concept helps bridge the gap between demand and supply with no upfront business risks for restaurateurs.
Deliveroo Editions will this autumn bring six new concepts and existing brands Burger and Lobster, Clinton St. Baking Company, Fraiche, Joga, Pineapple Express and PINZA! to JLT and surrounding areas.
These include Dubai Marina, JBR, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City, Knowledge Village, Barsha Heights, Emirates Hills, The Greens, The Meadows, Jumeirah Islands and JVT.
Tamer Elkhayat, managing director and co-founder of PINZA! commented: “We decided to join Deliveroo Editions because it is an innovative concept and a great opportunity to spread our reach and make PINZA! available to more areas throughout Dubai with quick delivery and great customer service.
“Being part of Deliveroo Editions is a no-brainer – Deliveroo is making the dream come true. No headache in sourcing a location, licenses, drivers for delivery or sourcing kitchen equipment – Deliveroo is taking care of that and our part at PINZA! is to ensure that we make this project a successful one.”
Hisham Samawi, managing partner of Clinton St. Baking Company, said: “We have been in Downtown Dubai for almost three years. For the last two, we have worked closely with Deliveroo to deliver our food to customers within the area.
“We have had our sights on opening our restaurants in ‘New Dubai’ as there has been great demand for it, but the opportunity hadn’t presented itself, until now. When we found out that we had the chance to partner with Deliveroo Editions catering to the Marina, JLT, Meadows and Springs area, we found it to be a dream come true and immediately jumped at the opportunity.
Restaurants around the globe have already seen a growth in their businesses since joining Deliveroo Editions.
London-based Crust Bros has seen 250% growth to their business in six months and, because of the additional revenues, has since been able to launch its first two bricks and mortar sites.
Likewise, in Singapore, Mediterranean concept Blu Kouzina has seen a 550% increase in revenues since launching in April 2017 and has already created two successful new concepts thanks to Deliveroo’s user data.
In the UAE, Deliveroo already plans to launch a second Editions location in Dubai in 2018.
Deliveroo is a delivery service founded in 2013 by William Shu and Greg Orlowski. It works with over 20,000 restaurants, more than 30,000 riders and is headquartered in London.
