In a city celebrated for its luxury dining and lavish Ramadan buffets, Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel and NH Collection Dubai The Palm are taking a different approach this Holy Month — one rooted not in spectacle, but in memory, emotion, and the comfort of home-cooked food.
Now operating side by side as part of one hospitality complex on Palm Jumeirah, Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel and NH Collection Dubai The Palm have joined forces this Ramadan to launch a unique Iftar initiative inspired entirely by mothers’ homemade recipes, bringing flavors traditionally prepared in family kitchens into a hotel setting.
At the heart of the initiative is a simple idea: while abundance and grandeur are easy to find in Dubai, the taste of home is not — especially in a city where many residents live far from their families during Ramadan.
Rather than collaborating with celebrity chefs or fine-dining personalities, the hotels partnered with mothers from across the region, inviting them to share the recipes they cook for the people they love. Mothers from Jordan, Syria, Iraq, and Egypt worked closely with the hotels’ culinary teams, translating generations-old family dishes into an authentic Iftar experience.
The resulting buffet features a selection of traditional dishes including Jordanian Mansaf and Maqlouba, Egyptian Molokhia and Koshari, Iraqi Dolma, and Syrian Shish Barak and Baba Ghanoug — all inspired 100% by homemade cooking methods.
“Far from being about luxury or excess, this Iftar is about familiarity,” Chef Tamer AlNoty said. “It is about recreating the feeling of sitting at a family table, even when home is far away.”
The initiative is accompanied by a campaign film and visual storytelling that traces the journey of each dish from the hands of mothers to the Iftar table, reflecting the emotional connection between food, family, and togetherness during Ramadan which you can watch here on Instagram or LinkedIn.
Both properties will offer a buffet fully inspired by mothers’ recipes throughout the Holy Month:
- AED 200 at Dukes The Palm Dubai Hotel, Great British Restaurant, Ground floor
- AED 190 at NH Collection Dubai The Palm, Maiora Restaurant, M floor.
