Through its community-focused initiative, Beat Diabetes, Landmark Group has partnered with Dubai food enthusiasts to create 40 healthy recipes for Ramadan.
Nadia Parekh, founder of home-based catering company Mélange Dubai and Nabih and Ghalia, home chefs and founders of NabzZ&G in collaboration with Beat Diabetes have made ‘Homey’s Guide to Healthy Ramadan Recipes’ free to download at www.beatdiabetes.me.
The recipes are aimed at helping Muslims break their fasts by making mindful choices with ingredients such as whole grains, greens and proteins.
Nisha Jagtiani, director, Landmark Group said: “Our Beat Diabetes programme is focused on motivating the community to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Through our year-round initiatives, we encourage individuals to take three simple steps – eat healthy, get active and take a yearly medical test.
“The Ramadan cookbook is a part of our various ongoing efforts to reach out to the community with healthy alternatives. We believe that by creating interesting and adoptable programmes that can be weaved into the daily lives of people with ease and simplicity, we can help them embrace a better lifestyle.”
The recipes include traditional Middle Eastern dishes such as mahashi khodra and tabat tamir recreated in a contemporary style by Nabih and Ghalia.
Parekh of Mélange Dubai has created international dishes such as fish en papillote and vegan quinoa chili.
The chefs have infused superfoods with familiar ingredients for those looking for nutritious, occasion-appropriate fare, using easy to recreate techniques.
Each dish has been styled using Home Centre’s Ramadan Collection.
Médéric Payne, CEO of Home Centre, said: “We are pleased to collaborate on this initiative that encourages the community to eat healthy.
“Our Ramadan collection gives customers a wide–range of stylised and designed products that work well with family-style Iftars. Together with the Beat Diabetes initiative, we wish to offer our customers a beautiful way to create a holistic and well-balanced Iftar during this holy month.”
Alongside the cookbook, Beat Diabetes will share recipe videos, tips for healthy fasting and fun run competitions.
