Pop-up restaurant, Play Cannes, will open on 1 July 2017 until the end of August 2017, marking the first international venture for Dubai-based Play Dining Group.
Located in the ballroom and terrace of the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic, the outlet on the French Riviera will feature Play’s signature ‘Mediterrasian’ flavours.
Chef Reif Othman commented: “We will take our flavours from Dubai, the Mediterrasian cuisine that we have cultivated at Play since its inception, but I will be using fresh ingredients and produce from the region to bring a new taste to our pop-up in Cannes.
“Each week I will be creating a special seasonal dish, that will be available only at Play Cannes. Our core will always remain in our Mediterrasian roots, but with this pop-up we wanted to use influences from the region, to bring a taste of the French Rivera into our food, so it will really be a truly one-of-a-kind experience for our guests.”
The interiors will have a delicate French feel with wooden tables, sofas in camel leather, lounge chairs in cream chenille.
The 33-pax lounge has a 12-seater bar and the terrace features space for 44 diners. The lounge and terrace will be open each day from 2pm.
Open from 7pm – 3am, the dining room seats up to 100 and is split across two floors with an elevated dining area and DJ booth.
Paul Murashe, manager of operations for Play Dubai and Play Cannes, said: “There is a lighter feel to Play Cannes, you can see it especially in the pops of colour throughout the restaurant, the flowers, the Votive candles as well as the hues of blues, whites and reds found in the restaurant’s décor accents.
“We have created a certain chicness that can only be found within Play Dining Group’s outlets. Our terrace in particular is my favorite area of Play Cannes with its floor to ceiling windows and bold gold pendant lights, which really emulate Play Dubai in this new location.”
Play Dining Group is the collective of industry specialists behind Play Dubai, located at The H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road.
