Mark Hehir is a true connoisseur of the hotel industry and brings a wealth of experience to his role as General Manager at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. Before joining the resort, Mark held the position of General Manager at The Ritz- Carlton Maldives, in Fari Islands, where he oversaw the opening.
Mark’s life in hotels has taken him across the globe, spanning countries including Maldives, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Australia, UK, and the UAE. He occupied key positions in high end resorts owned by internationally reputable hotel chains including The Ritz Carlton Maldives, One & Only Reethi Rah, Amilla Fushi and Finolhu Maldives, Huvafen Fushi Maldives, Anantara Phuket Villas, and Anantara Seminyak. Hotel openings and rebranding are his strongest areas of expertise.
In his current role at Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Mark leads all aspects of the hotel operation, as well as stakeholder and community relationships.
His management style focuses on facilitating innovation, encouraging employee development, and further enhancing service excellence.He does this while driving unique, inspired products and experiences that capture emotion and positively impact marketshare.
Mark embarked on his journey in the hospitality sector starting from the kitchen then movingfrom apprenticeship, thento Chef de Cuisine across hotels between the UK and Australia.He was eventually headhunted by Hilton International to become an Executive Chef for their property in Colombo, Sri Lanka in 1997. With his experience as a former dual Executive Chef and Director of F&B, Mark brings unique insights into building new and exciting F&B concepts.
